Birthday Boy

This happened a bit ago now but still news worthy and important in the lives of us and I just haven't had much time to sit and blog.

Wyatt turned 5! Our holiday in 2007 started out with a bang when Wyatt-man arrived during a snow storm 3 weeks early. It's been crazy ever since!  I try really hard each year to make sure he has a birthday and it isn't forgotten in the midst of Christmas readiness.  I think in the five years we have only been snowed out once so we are getting lucky.
This year he wanted a Blue Angel birthday. He is majorly into airplanes and he and his Dad watch a You Tube video (Pump Up The Angels) 700 million times a week that is all Blue Angels so that was the theme. Now having a birthday party at home in the middle of a Kansas winter means you have to squeeze everyone into the house due to the cold so it limits our activities. It was pretty simple as usual since I don't get all crazy with my party planning. We let the boys play, made paper airplanes, they colored pictures of fighter jets and we had cake and homemade ice cream!  I was so happy we had 3 of the 4 grandparents present and 4 little boys to help us celebrate. Nothing better than a bundle of kids running around the house making airplane noises!!!!

I can't believe my little guy is 5 already. Time with kiddos really does move at lightning speed!  He was such a little guy when he was born at 6lbs 10oz, 17 inches and now weighs in at 50lbs and can eat me under the table! He loves steak and anything chocolate and is hot all the time. He is a shorts in the middle of winter kind of guy!  He is very smart and bull headed (I have no idea where he gets that from) and opinionated (this one either). He bats, golfs, fishes left handed but writes right handed.  My ambidextrous kid. Sports are very important to him and he has a determination that I don't think most 5 year olds have. I have seen him set goals all by himself and work to reach them without even one little push from Mom and Dad.  He is my first and my little man. I love him to pieces!  Happy birthday buddy!
